Breathe for the Brain

If You Were Able To Breathe Better, Would Your Quality Of Life Improve?

Breathing is an automatic process, meaning we don’t have to tell the body to do it. If we did, we wouldn't have time for anything else- we take approximately 960 breaths per hour!

Did you know the average person breathes in the equivalent of 13 pints of air every minute?
Did you know seventy percent of waste is eliminated through your lungs just by breathing?
Did you know we exhale up to 17.5 milliliters of water per hour?

The process of breathing delivers fresh oxygen throughout the body and removes carbon dioxide. Oxygen plays a number of vital roles in the body, including reducing stress, increasing alertness, and oxidizing food to give us energy. Needless to say, breathing is crucial to our health.

During our time together, we will discuss different types of breathing and the relationship of breathing to the brain, which is why we invite you to attend our next webinar, Breathe for the Brain , on Wednesday, March 17th at 12:00 pm EDT.

Control Your Breathing to Control Your Stress

Did you know your posture plays an important role in breathing patterns? We may breathe automatically, but this doesn’t mean we’re breathing properly. For example, are you familiar with the fight or flight response?

The fight or flight response is a biochemical reaction to stress. In addition to hormonal changes throughout the body, breathing changes as well. While this is useful when stress is triggered by danger, daily stress can trigger this response as well.

Because we don’t normally think about breathing, we forget we can control the breath. By controlling the breath, we can control stress levels. There are many different breathing techniques you can learn in order to support your overall health.

Chronic stress is associated with numerous health conditions. Many of us don’t even realize our bodies are in a state of stress, which is why it is so important to understand the breath.

Useful Exercises To Control Your Breath

Our goal for Breathe for the Brain is to help you understand the importance of the breath and it’s relation to brain function. We’ll teach you how to make every breath count for better health and longevity.

By performing a couple of tests together, you will gain a better idea of your ability to breathe properly. If you find you’re struggling, a Complete Neuro Respiratory Assessment will further examine the relationship between your posture and your breathing patterns.
